The debtors will be paid and the military will be paid. She fails to mention social security and medicare payments may not be paid to a crowd of people, many of whom are most likely on social security and medicare payments.

"What we need is a fundamental restructuring of our economy. That is not occurring. Representative Steve King and myself introduced a bill that would take this issue off the table of defaulting on our debt and see the full faith and credit of the United States "somehow" be impinged in some way. No one wants to see that happen. We are saying, take that political football off the table, we have sufficient revenues coming in, we can pay for the interest on the debt, and lets take off the table the political pawns of our nation's brave military men and women. Let's make sure their salaries are paid. So my opinion would be this. We need to change the premise. The premise should not be that we will raise the debt ceiling....."
A more honest response would be one that considers all of our obligations to all citizens and one that makes cuts across the board. That means medicare, social security, defense, and other vital programs.
